While in high school, Jordan DeMay excelled both on the field and in the classroom. On Friday, March 25, 2022, he took his own life after blackmailers threatened to release one of his nude images in an attempt to extort money from him.

He apparently paid the blackmailers $300 after they threatened to release the sexual images he had been tricked into posting to all of his social media accounts unless he immediately paid them.

It has been reported by the authorities that the blackmailers used the identity of an attractive woman to set up a fake Twitter account, which they then used to send DeMay a n**e photo of.

Then they began blackmailing him for his photograph after he responded by providing them a picture of himself completely undressed .

Even though DeMay was ready to hand up $300, they continued to demand more money from him and attempted to extort $1000. Jordan DeMay committed suicide soon after.

DeMay apparently paid the blackmailers $300 when they threatened to post the nude images he was tricked into sending to all of his social media accounts unless he paid them $300 straight immediately.

It has been reported by the authorities that the blackmailers used the identity of an attractive woman to set up a fake Twitter account, which they then used to send DeMay a n**e photo of.

Investigators in Marquette had reason to think that Demay had been blackmailed via social media just hours before his death. That’s what they stated.

They said that Jordan Demay was blackmailed by Instagram for taking images of himself and that criminals had coerced him into not sharing them with his family and followers. Extortion is what that is, and it is getting increasingly widespread, according to experts.

Program manager at Fox Valley Institute of Technology’s Ret National Criminal Justice Training Center: “We think youngsters are sending clearer images only because they have been detained for the past two years.”

According to Lieutenant Joe Laramie, It is also possible that sextortion predators will solely target youngsters and teenagers in order to obtain obscene photos. However, this was not enough to convict Demay in the matter of his money transfer.

When a friend of DeMay came forward to tell them that the blackmailers had also contacted her, the investigators stated they originally viewed the case as a “teen suicide.”

“Jordan forwarded the picture to a friend of his. She was aware that Jordan had taken his own life when she viewed the photograph, and that’s when they began demanding money from her as well. She claimed he committed suicide. As soon as they hung up, she dialled 911,” Zyburt claimed.

For the most part, the Sheriff’s Office does not share information about suicides. This information has been requested by Jordan’s parents. Extortion over images of Jordan that he had taken of himself is considered to be the reason for his incarceration.

As a result of Jordan’s refusal to comply with the assailant’s demands, the photos were not transmitted to Jordan’s loved ones or followers on Instagram.

According to some estimates, these events took place within six hours of each other. The Sheriff’s Office and Jordan’s family are hopeful that this will aid in the healing process for the people of the area.

The statement from the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office adds, “We also hope that this will educate others and encourage daring conversations about internet security.
